For those of you who were at Bromont yesterday knew you were going to be in for quite a treat,

despite the foreshadowing hints of heavy rain and thundershowers . The last jump before the finish line With the warm-up runs on the downhill course starting around noon, riders got a feel of the course while it was still dry yet relatively tacky from the previous rainfall. Two O'clock came around and so did the women's race. Rachel Atherton quickly de-throned Sabrina Jonier by a whole two seconds winning first place at both Mont-St-Anne and Bromont. With all that said, the well predicted rain showed up giving the men a much more challenging race course where we really got to see whether riders knew how to handle their bike and this amazing race course. Time results began by being dominated by the French Remi Thirion and Damien Spagnolo. It was only once Chris Kovarik showed up that it all went downhill from there (no pun intended). It seemed like Greg Minaar was going to be the man in the hotseat with a time of [2:44.84]. Even Steve Peat who negotiated the course with ease and mastered the second high-speed section could only match him at [2:46.00] Syndicate riders after their race run The last man down, race plate #1, the one and only Sam Hill took it away from Minaar by an entire 2 seconds with a time of[2:42.14] The man of the hour celebrates his well deserved victory For more information on race results, check out The UCI website See you all at the races next year! -AlexG |
