TOPIC: Good Japanese noodles and sushi in montreal?

Good Japanese noodles and sushi in montreal? 1 year, 8 months ago #1778

Hey,

I absolutely love japanese noodles(ramen, udon, ect) and sushi. I haven't been able to find a good authentic one yet. I've been to a small japanese noodle shop in the downtown area, can't remember the name, but it was far from good.

I looked at a few more establishment and none have really appealed to me. None of them have been run by japanese people and every thing is japanese "Style". One shops version of katsudon was just a pork cutlet on a plate with steamed rice next to it.

I've been lucky in aus that we have lots of really good japanese restaurants and sushi. I'm sorry to say but the quality of the sushi here is quite low. I might sound like i'm having a whinge but i really love my japanese food.

Thanks Tim.

I don't know much about japanese food (not a sushi fan), but if you ever want viet-namese soups and bowl, I know a lot of places.

It's been such a long time since I've been in Montreal so I know a lot of things have changed and I might not know where anything is anymore.
What I do know this that Japanese food in North America is adapted to our tastes and what we think about food in general. Not many people like the idea of raw fish in their meal, even if it's treated to remove all bacteria.

You could always look in the tellow pages to see what kinds of restoraunts there are and you can take your time to visit a few one day.
