wow. that's just asking for trouble. if you just want the look of a fixie, just buy a singlespeed freewheel and throw it on there.
It's stuff like that that gives fixie riders a bad rap, sayin they're just cheapies that don't want to have anything to fix. there is a lot more to fixing than just locking out your gear. it's meant to be a way of smoothening out your pedalstrokes, and becoming more efficient on a bike. Not just all this brakeless, botchery. But if you're really lookin for a fixie wheel, just order from damco, it won't cost too much . probably under 100$ the hubs and rims are cheap, and they're build it up for you.

yeah i know it not a good idea but i would be runing brakes.. well atlest a front brake so if ever anything would happen and jbweld would unstick. i know 100 bucks is cheap for a wheel heck on ebay i saw wheelset for 140 but im to cheap to sped that much on this bike seeing i found it in the garbage.

then why would you want come ghettorigged fixie freewheel that'll unscrew when you can just put a single speed freewheel for like 10$ . i think its a no contest idea. get the look of a fixie with no worries

I started my season on a new to me road bike I built up but it was single speed not fixie. In the city you'll be just fine either way but if you intend to go outside the city and want to push big gears forget it. My setup is short whellbase aluminum frame, TT handlebars with one 42-T chainring and a 7-sp cassette/bar end thumb shifter. 42-52-T is next with my second thumb shifter but fixie or SS for me is a no go for where I ride.
