I started a trail last fall by flagging and using a gps for waypoints. So far I got 500m flagged but half of it I think needs to be rerouted so I don't need big structures. I don't want to get unwanted attention from the wrong people so loud tools are a no no. Also even if a big bike would be fun where I'm building an All Mountain bike would do just fine. The terrain is amazing in my opinion, some dirt, rock, pine & spruce trees and the landscape quite nice without being too steep. Tomorrow might be a good time after diner in the eveing to go take a look for the first time this spring.

Bring your ass in East Hereford on May 29th for the Provincial MTB Trail Day. A bunch of peoples will be working on the Maitrise, the advanced all-mountain-ish trail that start at the top of the mountain. That could be good inspiration for you

Heading up in a few minutes to re-flag the upper section and take a few pics. Tonight I'm also going again but to bring up tools underneath a tarp and leave them there. That makes it easier to do some work and I can just go walk up anytime I find some timeto build. Hoping to have one trail within 2 weeks and then look into making another one. My goal is to have a pretty extensive network of trails but with only 1-2 entrance and 1-2 exits.

I found 1 to 2km of trail right by my house!!!
nice singletrack with some rocky sections. more of the trailbike type trail.

I plan on making it more rideable as a lot of trees have fallen, build a few "natural" obstacles.
Goal is to make a fun loop for after work rides and night rides with friends that come over.

Also we used to do XC on top of Donquichotte Blvd. It's rolling rock and there is a plateau we used to huck-off. We must go back and check it out. Was really fun back then.

I know about the place around don quichote, there 30km of trail between pincourt and Ile perrot on the skieurs de l'ile trails, I had a 5 KM loop all cleaned up for the past 2 years.

i'm gonna work the trail in terrasse vaudreuil this year as it is just around the corner instead of 3km away from me for the other trail (i dont like riding road with my MTB) plus i have to train my dog slowly for its first year on the trail so that short loop will be perfect

The trail I took for the second half of my ride today is an old abandoned DH trail with berms but they need to be reshaped otherwise it's pretty cool to ride on.

And the trail I marked is about 500m or so higher up across the road from todays ride. Tomorrow morning after my ride at the crack of dawn I'm heading up with ribbon to mark and a few tools in a pack. Going to find a way and get my trail down to the road in a spot that won't be seen. If all goes well by the end of June I should have something quite interesting even if I was hoping to be done by now. Time is not in my favour to work on this, too many other priorities but it will get done.

Slowly but surely I'll have a network of trails here for 2-3 hrs of fun at a time.

Back in the woods tomorrow, a little work on one of the trails and better to do this now before bug season starts. I figure I have 3-5 weeks before I get eaten alive in the woods. LOL

i am off the monday after easter, do you have the time or inclination for me to come and help on Monday? let me now.

I'm going up there tomorrow to see how wet it is then if possible on Friday to do some work. I'll let you know tomorrow once I see the conditions.
