TOPIC: XC/AM ride?

XC/AM ride? 1 year, 6 months ago #3210

I might be weird but i feel like doing some XC/AM riding. Riding up and down Mont Royal isn't what you call rewarding. I feel like doing 20-30km of single track.

Mont St-Bruno is the closest i can find to montreal but you need a minimum of 2 people to ride there. It is fairly flat tho but might offer a few hours of fun single track. The only other shit thing is that it's only open on Saturdays from 9:00 to 16:00.

I don't know anywhere else that isn't over an hours drive away.

Anyone else up for a few hours of peddling(I'm not what you call fit so it wont be very fast on the ups )

Cheers Tim.

I'm not very xc oriented, but wait for kiwimj or hypnotic, they know a lot about it.

I could be interested, as long as you wait for me on the big climbs. My little bike fits in the trunk so yours can go on the roof. It wont be this weekend, but possibly the next.

By the looks of Mont St Bruno it doesn't have any big climbs, none of the trails actually hit the mountain it self.

Sounds like you like the same as me which is I don't mind the epic long climbs if their progressive but I like places where it's borderline DH to go down. East Hereford is the place for that but I haven't been yet and I really have the bug in me to go lately. That place is freeride type of riding, pedal your way up and do DH type to go down. I would prefer going during the week however. I was even thinking of a short road trip, go do one day at East Hereford and camp somewhere out that way.

Yeah that's the problem with east hereford, it just so far away. The trails out there looks awesome!

Bump. Any one else up for a day of pedalling?

Is there anywhere better than Mont St Bruno that is around the same distance from montreal and open more often?

East-Hereford is not even 2h30 from Montreal, closer than Kingdom Trails. If you even "gravity assisted XC rides", you can start from the top of the mountain and ride all the way down to the village!

Coaticook is 2h15 but not for the faint of hearth

St-Bruno is harder to access and is still relatively far

On the north shore of Mtl, there's a lot of nice place, but you need to know the locals
