I'm looking for a soft spring, has to be a 203mm (8") Marz 888 and thought someone here might have one or know of someone. Otherwise no big deal I can order a set.

Thanks in advance

I guess after almost 2 months no one has anything.

My fork was like a pogo stick this past Monday so I opened it up and the oil is like water. I just went to pick up some 10wt at the MX shop here, going to empty it, take apart to clean and reassemble with new oil. Seals are still great but some O-rings are getting a little tired, will replace too.

Maybe that will help out going faster because last ride I was bouncing all over on the trails from the front end. Just felt like shit all day and not smood at all. My shock is pretty well set, just need to back off on the compression damper a little and where set. Going to do this just before dinner then get a shuttle up the mountain, maybe twice tonight.

10wt is too much for you're weight

7.5 or even 5 wt would have been better

i dont even ride 10 wt

im 210lbs and freakin hard on a bike

That's what is in it right now 5wt and I always used the recommended 7.5wt at least. I did forget to mention it's an 888RT no adjustments at all other then with spring change or oil level. The flow holes are much bigger in these non adjustable forks. I still need one(1) soft spring to start with.

Thats true, forgot you had the same.
And by spacer what do you mean? Black spacer for the spring?

yep..

at first i was complaining about bottoming out

so the shop add some 10 wt to my new 7.5

plus 5 spacer on each side ...

it was stiff as well .... so i took out 1 ..and then 2 , 3 , 4

now whit one only ..... its perfect for my riding style

wich is not smooth ...lol

Yeah I see what they did, added spacers to compress the spring seeing you haven't got the external adjustments. Me it was the opposite, these came with the original spacer that was borderline long enough but with a few times bottoming out the spring gets a little shorter. I added machined aluminum spacers and stretched the coil so I have no slack at all.

The 10wt I just got comes from a pro shop that actually has worked on moto shivers and similar moto versions of our fork. He assured me I would like it but that my main problem is the spring both being medius is too much for my weight. Soo, that's why I was looking for one soft spring but at $35 a set I'll just order some tomorrow.

There we go, I drained the fork completly and got everyting out the cartridges too all cleaned up. I have exactly 210ml per side of 10wt synthetic, very important to use synthetic and an oil same as or equivalent to MX because theirs some basic oils for use on touring bikes that will just foam inside your fork with the abuse we give it. I always end up doing some research and if it's chemistry based research then thats what I do.

The rebound is soooo much better right now and you feel and hear it too. Now to wait for the temp to go down below 30c, we hit 35c in the shade here on the digital therm.

SUCCESS

Now my fork works well and the rear shock too, turned down half a turn on the shock piggy tank. The fork is like butter right now and better then it has been since I don't remember. I took some berms and small wavy jumps on a trail full speed and felt 100% confident. No pogo stick effect at all.

Je suis tellement contant et la dernier piste que j'ai prit étai avec des berm et ca roulai au max. Je doit allez avec des outils pour refaire les berms et aussi voir comment rejoindre ce sentier de l'autre coter de la route.

More testing tomorrow morning on a more gnarly run.
